If there is one text I would like to cut from the Bible and frame, it’s this one.
“In the past God spoke to us through various prophets but now he has spoken to us through his son.”
If I have never borrowed your Bible, you may find that verse in Hebrews1:2
Come to think of it.
Aren’t we- New Testament Christians- a privileged lot?
I mean, it’s like God was saying, in the past I used many microphones, but today, I have spoken to you using one microphone-my son Jesus.Reminds me of a 1990’s TV series themed “Days of our lives.” The show was centered around two families, the Hortons and the Bradys.
But aren’t we Christians living in the “Days of our lives” too? I wonder whether we daily live aware of this awesome reality. I mean, we live in days ancient prophets only dreamt about. (Mathew 17:13) Days Israelites waited for over 400 years to appear.
Days when the spirit of God resides in man – full time.Days men approach a holy God without carrying any poultry.
Days when we have a privilege of finding stuff like this written in our Bibles,“Therefore, Brothers and sisters, since we have this confidence to enter the most holy place by the blood of Jesus. “ (Heb 10:19)
Day when God’s spoken word is available in print, online and audio for purposes of “correcting, rebuking and training in righteousness so that the man of God may be prepared for every good work”( 2 Tim 3:16)
My!
Days we can confidently sing “We do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses ,but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are –yet he did not sin “ (Heb 4:15)
No wonder Peter says ” Even angels longed to see such things”. (1Peter 1; 12 ) . Imagine –Angels!
Perhaps that’s what John saw and reached for his pen musing “Behold what manner of love the father has lavished on us, that we should be called sons of God” (1John 3:1)
Honestly guys, “How shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation “(Heb 2:3)? At this rate brethren, hope you are taking nothing for granted. You might as well pat yourself on the back, because as you can see, this is more than a TV series;
This is the era!
These are indeed the – “Days of our lives.”
Forget the TV series.
