What’s Far Better Than A Woman’s Necklace?

neck
First things first, I am no fashion expert, if anything; my struggle to find a fitting jeans lately should tell you something.

But this doesn’t seem to be the case with women. (Or at least I think) when it comes to fashion, their range of choices seem to be a billion times vast, than men’s.

Maybe because God has designed these fair ones to look attractive, and the fashion industry seems to, somehow, tap into that, uh?

But that’s a discussion for another day, in the third chapter of 1 Peter, the writer (thankfully) seems to introduce to us another kind of feminine appeal. He writes,

“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair, wearing of gold jewellery and fine clothes, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which is of great worth in God’s sight.”

Notice the writer doesn’t prohibit women standing in front of mirrors, but instead redefines the source of true feminine appeal and uses the phrases.

“Unfading beauty…worth in God’s sight”

Talk about stuff more valuable than a woman’s necklace!
